Registration fees for SLRF 2000 include entrance into all of the sessions, plenaries, colloquia, publishers exhibits, as well as the opening reception and roundtable luncheon with the UW-Madison faculty, SLRF plenary speakers, and colloquia organizers.

In order to register for the conference, click on the "Registration Form" link at the top of this page and print the form out. After printing it out, fill in the appropriate information and send the form via postal mail to the SLRF 2000 conference committee with your payment to:

Please make checks or money orders payable to SLRF 2000. Do not send credit card information or cash in the mail. To be eligible for early registration, the registration form and payment must be postmarked by July 15, 2000. All presenters must pre-register for the conference by this date (as postmarked).Confirmation of registration will be sent to you via e-mail. If you want confirmation via postal mail, please include a self-addressed, stamped postcard with your registration.

International participants:
International participants may pay the total amount in cash (in $US) upon arrival at the conference. Please understand that the organizers are graduate students and cannot provide support in obtaining a US entry visa to attend SLRF. Please expect to make your own visa arrangements. We will gladly provide an informal letter of confirmation for international presenters, if needed.

Roundtable luncheon on Friday, 9/8/00:
This year's innovation at SLRF, roundtable luncheon features the University of Wisconsin faculty from various departments, as well as SLRF plenary speakers and colloquia organizers, who will contribute their expertise to SLRF by leading an informal discussion on a topic relevant to second or foreign language research. This should be a great opportunity to discuss second and foreign language issues with faculty experts and interested colleagues during an informal meal!

Please indicate at least three choices. We will make every attempt to reserve the roundtable of your choice, but please understand that space is limited to 12 participants per table and is assigned in the order the registration forms (with payment for US participants) are postmarked. Register early to get your most desired choice!

Dining in downtown Madison on Friday 9/8/00:
State Street area features Afghani, Chinese, Ethiopian, European, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, and Seafood restaurants. Restaurants are located within 10-minute walking distance from the conference site. Typical cost of dinner (appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee), excluding liquor, tax and tip, is between $12-$20.

There will be groups going out to dinner accompanied by UW-Madison graduate students. Each person will pay for his or her own dinner. If you would like to be escorted, please indicate so on the registration form and mail the form to us before August 15.

Accommodations:
For information about conference hotels and other lodging options, follow the accommodation link at the bottom of the page. Please note that some of the hotels will only guarantee the conference rate until 8/1/00. This date is about two weeks after the pre-registration deadline, so register early and book your hotel accommodations early too in order to be assured of the best rate.

Refund Policy:
Refunds will be issued upon written request (minus a $15 processing fee) received by August 25, 2000. After this date, no refunds will be issued. All refund checks will be issued after the conference.
