GUTS The Greater University Tutoring Service is a volunteer tutoring organization that provides free tutoring to all students attending 
UW-Madison. Tutoring is available to all students who wish to improve 
their grades, study habits, and conversational English. Each year more than 
4,500 students participate in GUTS programs, making it the largest 
organization of its kind at any American college or university.

GUTS Tutorial. To practice your conversational English, sign up to join 
an informal conversation group at the University which is led by a 
native speaker of English.

The Writing Center. Check out all the workshops designed to help 
students with their writing here at the UW-Madison. In addition, 
you can sign up to meet with a writing tutor or complete exercises to 
correct common grammatical and punctuation problems.

Here are just a few of the hundreds of sites on the World Wide Web 
which have been designed to help you, the ESL student, to learn 
and play with English. If you find other sites you like, e-mail us and we'll 
add them to the list for all to use and enjoy.

Dave's ESL Cafe. This is the most famous of all ESL sites. You could 
spend a whole day exploring just this site alone.

ESL Chat Central. Join in on live on-line chats with other ESL learners 
from around the world.

TOEFL Preparation. The Shockwave plug-in lets you experience a truly 
amazing site that helps you prepare for the TOEFL test.
