Technology Fellows participate in a semester-long seminar designed to introduce theoretical and pedagogical aspects of using technology as well as to provide a hands-on practicum for specific technologies. Seminars not only cover general types of web- or network-based communication, such as web pages, e-mail and listservs, bulletin boards, and chatting, but also introduce specific software, including Web CT and CommonSpace, and explain seldom-used features of familiar web browsers and word-processing programs that make useful classroom tools.

Besides using this information in their own teaching, Fellows act as leaders in their departments, encouraging and assisting other TAs and faculty in the use of computers in teaching.

Past fellows include Hugh Bishop, Mark Cantrell, Carole Chabries, May Chan, Christine DeVine, Julie Fromer, Nelson Graff, Marissa Lopez, Jean Merrill, Gretchen Michlitsch, Julie Nelson Christoph, Kevin Porter, Albert Sheen, Amanda Stansell, Laura Sythes, and Tisha Turk.

Erin Smith, Nelson Graff, Amanda Stansell, Gretchen Michlitsch, Albert Sheen, and Tisha Turk have directed the program.
